21st Jena Acoustics Day

Symposium on acoustics, noise, and hearing

Jena Acoustics Day is a regional conference that brings together current topics from science, technology, and society relating to hearing, noise, and acoustics. In addition to experts from science, industry, and administration, students and interested members of the public are also welcome to attend.

For two decades, the Jena Acoustics Day has been dedicated to the phenomenon of “noise” – from its origin and effects to its prevention. In the early years, the focus was primarily on vehicle noise. Today, the spectrum ranges from bio-inspired microphones to infrasound and psychoacoustic effects to issues of European immission control. This year’s program is also diverse: from measuring the cochlea for individual implants to noise generation at wind turbines, information on all aspects of acoustics will be provided in lectures and at booths.

Save the Date: 3rd User Day “OpenIRIS for JenaVersum”

Jena is a center of science and research known for its excellent research and high-performance research infrastructures. Since its founding in 2021, JenaVersum has been promoting the networked and coordinated use of research infrastructures. The open-source platform OpenIRIS is an important component of this effort. It enables researchers and resource providers to share technologies and manage scientific services. More and more institutes, core facilities, and service units are actively using the platform, making their equipment visible and thus contributing to a sustainable research landscape in Jena.

The 3rd User Day “OpenIRIS for JenaVersum” offers an opportunity to learn about the possibilities of OpenIRIS, exchange experiences, and benefit from the experiences of other users. The event is aimed at current users as well as interested parties. In addition to networking opportunities, insights into current developments and perspectives of the platform will be provided. Together, we will explore how research infrastructures can be better shared, used, and further developed.
