By the present privacy statement JenaVersum e. V. represented by the board of the association, fulfils the requirement to provide information in accordance with sections 12 and 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for all its websites.

Which terms and principles do apply?
The definitions used in the present privacy statement are determined by section 4 of GDPR. If reading the text carefully, these definitions should be easily understandable. The structure and the formulations in the privacy statement are based on the principle of transparency as defined in section 5 subsection 1(a) and in section 12 of GDPR. If you, however, still might have some questions, please do not hesitate to contact us (see contact details above).

Why and how does JenaVersum process your data?
While visiting our websites, your personal data is being processed in various ways. The type of processing depends on the features of the particular web page. Currently, the following types of processing are carried out:

While processing data in accordance with section 6 subsection 1(f) of GDPR, JenaVersum pursues the following legitimate interests:

According to section 21 of GDPR, you have the right to object the data processing, as defined in section 6 subsection 1 (f) of GDPR, if you give reasons relating to your particular situation in which data processing seems unreasonable to you. In the cookies section below, you may de-activate the data processing related to Matomo services. Furthermore, you can object the tracking by Matomo by selecting this from the Borlabs cookie window, the first time you visit the website.

Cookies
Cookies are small text files which website providers store in your web browser and represent them in there. Apart from “session cookies”, which are deleted by closing the web browser, JenaVersum e.V. uses cookies within the web analysis tool Matomo. This enables us to analyse your behaviour on the JenaVersum’s web pages as far as you do not object the tracking option (see below).

Wordfence
We use the Wordfence plugin from the provider Defiant Inc., Attn: Legal Department, 1700 Westlake Ave N Ste 200, Seattle, WA 98109, USA („Wordfence“). Wordfence stores the IP addresses of users to detect brute force and DDoS attacks. It sets three different cookies for this. IP addresses that are classified as harmless are placed on a whitelist. Dubious IP addresses are placed on a blacklist. The IP addresses are stored in the database on our server. In addition, Wordfence sends the collected data to its servers in the U.S., in a “third country” without any equivalent level of data protection.

Borlabs Cookie
This website uses Borlabs Cookie-Technology, which sets a technically necessary cookie (borlabs-cookie) to store and document your cookie preferences. Provider of this technology is Borlabs – Benjamin A. Bornschein, Rübenkamp 32, 22305 Hamburg. When you enter our website, a Borlabs cookie is saved in your browser, which stores the consents you have given or the revocation of these consents. If you wish to revoke these consents, simply delete the cookie from your browser. If you re-enter/reload the website, you will be asked again for your cookie consent. This data is not shared with the Borlabs cookie provider.

We use Borlabs cookie in order to obtain the legally required consents for the use of cookies. The legal basis for this is section 6 subsection 1 (c) GDPR.

Do we pass on your data? If yes, do we pass them on third countries?
We pass on your personal data to external parties if JenaVersum e.V. must do so in accordance with legal or judicial regulations, or any regulations of other authorities. Furthermore, certain data is passed on to Google due to the integration of YouTube after your consent. Google-Servers are located in the U.S., in a “third country” without any equivalent level of data protection.

In addition, data is passed on to the provider of the plugin Wordfence, which is based in the U.S., see section “Wordfence”.

How long do we store your data?
We store your data not longer than necessary for a particular type of data processing. If there are any retention/storage periods determined by law, they shall apply.

What rights can you exercise?
In accordance with sections 15–22 and section 77 of GDPR, you have various rights with regard to processing of your personal data by JenaVersum e. V.:

  • Right to object: You can object a particular type of data processing if you can give reasons relating to your particular situation in which data processing seems unreasonable to you.
  • Right to access: You have the right to learn whether JenaVersum e. V. processes your data and, if yes, to what extent.
  • Right to rectification: You have the right to obtain the rectification of inaccurate or incomplete personal data from the controller.
  • Right to erasure: You have the right to have your personal data erased by the controller if one of the reasons named in section 17 subsection 1 of GDPR are given; for example, if the data are no longer necessary in relation to the purposes for which they were collected.
  • Right to restriction of processing: You have the right to restrict the processing from the controller if one of the reasons named in section 18 subsection 1 of GDPR are given; for example, if the accuracy of the personal data is contested during the verification process.
  • Right to data portability: You have the right to have JenaVersum e.V. provide you your data in a machine-readable format or transfer those to another controller upon your request if this is technically possible.
  • Right to lodge a complaint: You have the right to lodge a complaint against the processing of your personal data by JenaVersum e. V., i.e. with the responsible supervisory authority, the Thuringian Data Protection Officer, Häßlerstraße 8, 99096 Erfurt, Germany.

Google Web Fonts (local hosting)
This site uses so-called web fonts provided by Google LLC., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”) for the consistent display of fonts. The Google Fonts are installed locally. There is no connection to Google servers.
