What is the significance of modern medicine for our self-image of life, for our life plans? How do the new possibilities in medical prediction and prevention affect individual life planning? What role does medical treatment and technical support play for a good life in old age?

Bioethicist Prof. Dr. Mark Schweda from Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg will answer these and other exciting questions in his lecture “Ethical aspects of the medical fight against aging” as part of the public lecture series “Science & Society” on March 16, 2023 in the lecture hall of the Abbe Center Beutenberg in Jena.

The biannual public lecture series “Science & Society” expands the basic scientific and medical research on aging conducted in Jena to include societal and social aspects and is organized by the Leibniz Institute on Aging – Fritz Lipmann Institute (FLI) together with the Beutenberg Campus Jena e.V..
