Lecture and panel discussion on the Heat Action Day
Climate in your head
Open event on the mental health of children and young people in 2025
Corona, wars and an intensification of social discourse, inflation and, hovering over everything, the climate and biodiversity crisis – wherever you look, our present is characterised by crises. In the course of their development, children and young people have to come to terms with their own issues and crises, but also with our global world of crises. Is it therefore normal for them to be more anxious or sad? Who suffers most from these stresses? And what can be done about it? The lecture describes the psychosocial consequences as well as the mechanisms by which a global crisis can become a personal crisis. It explains how people can cope well with these crises – alone and as a society. At the end, we will shed light on the positive psychosocial effects that measures such as climate protection or a strong school system can have on people’s mental health. These so-called co-benefits not only have a benefit for the climate and the environment, but also for our psyche.
