Hands-on Science
On November 20, 2026, the Long Night of Science in Jena invites you to rediscover science, research, and innovation in Jena. From exciting experiments and hands-on activities to lectures, guided tours, and special insights, a diverse program invites you to experience science firsthand. The Long Night of Science is the city’s largest science event. More than 50 partners—including universities, research institutes, companies, and other scientific institutions—will open their doors. This offers an opportunity to experience science up close, talk with researchers, and take a look behind the scenes of their current work.
This year marks the 10th edition of the Long Night of Science in Jena, coinciding with the 35th anniversary of the Ernst Abbe University (EAH). The opening event will therefore take place this year in the EAH auditorium and will tell the story of a city shaped by science, as well as the story of a university that has been creating knowledge, inspiring people, and shaping the future for 35 years.

Tickets for the event will be available starting in October at the Jena Tourist Information Office, the Unishop at Friedrich Schiller University Jena, or the online ticket shop.
