Jena is making a difference

“Don’t complain, take action!” – Under this motto, the Volunteer Agency of the Jena Saale-Holzland Community Foundation is calling on all residents of Jena and the surrounding area to get involved on September 12 as part of the 22nd Jena Volunteer Day. The event, which has been held since 2004, aims to support participatory projects in clubs, daycare centers, and senior centers. It offers a glimpse into the diversity of volunteer work, presents a fresh perspective on volunteering, and encourages people to get involved and “give it a try.” Numerous exciting activities await: from outings with seniors to apple picking at the Trüperwiese to painting a circus wagon at Circus Momolo. Those who’d rather get involved in the culinary arts can contribute to the closing celebration with a homemade cake.

The day’s activities will conclude with a big celebration right in front of the Community Foundation, in the open space next to the Platanenhaus on Unterlauengasse. Starting at 3:00 p.m., all volunteers are warmly invited to enjoy music and treats.

More information about volunteering in Jena, as well as registration for the Volunteer Day activities, is available here.
Participation is free and completely non-binding.
